Jeff and Phokham Giblin opened GG’s Nails and Spa Salon at 5466 Monroe Street (the corner of Whiteford and Monroe) in Sylvania Township on December 15 2006. We invite you to sit down, relax and let the stress of everyday life dissipate at GG’s Spa Salon. The interior is striking enough to cause a double-take, from the European nail tech tables to the chrome and red leather side bar offering light refreshments. A huge plasma TV on the wall entertains waiting customers enjoying an ultra-comfortable seat. Most of the furnishings and fixtures are from “Eurway”, a Houston-based company specializing in European items. Combined with the original artwork, curved walls and mirrors, clients enter into a modern, trendy atmosphere that has more of a New York or Paris feel than that of typical Toledo.
Phokham has been doing manicures and pedicures in other salons for over 10 years. “My clients have been telling me for years that I should open my own salon,” says Phokam. “So, I did!” We were not shy while doing our research. We went directly to several of Phokham’s current clients and asked, “What’s most important to you at a nail salon? “ We found that “Cleanliness” was the overwhelming answer by far. So, though comfort and aesthetics are significant concerns, cleanliness will always remain top priority.
Aside from standard cleaning processes, we have come up with an added feature. Each client at GG’s has their own custom package on file at the salon. In it are their own tools, provided to them on their first visit to GG’s. The files and buffers are sanitized then placed in each client’s own container which is not opened until that client returns again for service. You, as the client, also have the option of taking their container home with you. We hear so much about unclean shops and what can happen. You will ever have to worry about that at GG’s Nails and Spa Salon!
Phokham has more than 50 loyal clients who have followed her to GG’s. The nail techs at GG’s are currently accepting new clients, and walk-ins are welcome. The Giblins encourage people to drop by, ask about grand opening specials and have a seat in one of the many Shiatsu massage chairs for a wonderful pedicure. The massage chairs are not only rated number one in the industry but, following the Giblin’s priority, they are made with a special purifying material that kills all bacteria.
